Summary

• Metro endeavored to improve transit connectivity and access to four Metrolink commuter train stations; El Monte, Northridge, Montebello/Commerce and possibly add a station at Rio Hondo College, by conducting a Feasibility Study to analyze two alternatives:
• Alternative 1: Analyze the feasibility of relocating the stations under consideration
• Alternative 2: Assess other options such as transforming the existing stations to a multi-modal transit hub
• Facilitated community meeting in Northridge with approximately 100 attendees
• Distributed meeting invitation flyers through various outlets including 6,380 direct mailers, 1,250 door-to-door distribution, emailed to 40,000 Associated Students from Rio Hondo College, and direct distribution to community organizations and businesses
• Conducted survey outreach at the El Monte and Montebello Metrolink platforms and implemented a survey hotline, resulting in capturing over 1,000 surveys in less than two weeks
• Provided detailed summary reports for each of the platform survey outreach and the Northridge Community Meeting, which included a general analysis of the feedback received
